The iPhone app which forms part of my Home Automation suite of apps for iOS
Enter user name and password to enter the app. This acts both as a security measure to prevent unauthorised users from turning on your lights! And provides login credentials for the web service. Once logged in for the first time you're offered the choice between using Touch ID, entering username & PIN or bypass the login screen next time you open the app.
The screen that greets you when you log in showing your current energy usage in KW/Hour and £Cost per hour. The master 'All OFF' and 'ALL ON' buttons are located on the home View, as is your current network connectivity - Known WIFI, Unknown Wifi or 3G,4G,E. The app behaves differently if your connected to yout known home wifi.
Possibly the most used view in the app. The individual room controls are available in this view. Turn lights on or off, sockets on or off, set moods, trigger events, etc.
A control to set the mood light of a dimmable light switch. Full range from very low through to full brightness.
Here you can check the current electricity usage in your home. This view shows kilowatt per hour (kWh) as well as cost per hour (£/h).
This part of the app allows you to nominate an elecricity socket in your home as an iPhone charger. Once enabled you can confidently connect your iPhone to charge. Once fully charged, the socket will turn off to eliminate over charging. Over charging can reduce the life of the battery, not to mention increase your electricity bill!
Geo-Fencing allows you to set a digital boundry around your home. Once in place you can set-up rules to trigger when you approach, or leave, your home. This could be to turn the living room lights on when you're 200 metres from home. Or turnn everything off and enable home CCTV when you leave the house. The choice is yours.
